I'm not using dA anymore because:

1. I don't model anymore;

2. It has become full with copycat "artists", shitty emo myspace pictures, manga bullshit and wannabe alternative models;

3. I don't have the time to wade through all above-said crap to find the half-decent artists left on here.

If you want to keep in contact with me, please see the "Other Haunts" section below.

Btw I move to Texas next month to work with lions and tigers. Pretty cool eh?

Peas out

You know what really grinds my gears?

When certain artists are featured in Daily Deviations multiple times.

Surely the whole point of DD's is to bring attention to unknown, talented artists. Once an artist has been in the limelight, I think its time for someone else to be put up front, instead of rechurned "favourites" on dA repeatedly being featured.

Don't you think?

After 7 years of insomnia and proceeding years of increasing numbers of symptoms ranging from fast heartbeat, headaches, dizziness, fatigue, restless legs, tingling hands, confusion, memory loss, vision changes, pale skin, inability to breathe properly at altitude, sensitive gums, shallow breathing etc. etc. I have now found the root of the problem, thanks to my friend Dr Google.

Lack of vitamin B12 caused by my vegetarian-bordering-on-vegan diet and then worsened by pancreatitis and then my operation, causing my stomach to stop producing intrinsic factor, which absorbs B12.

Well god fucking damn it, why the hell did doctors not test for that before??

The good news is, you can reverse a lot of the symptoms.

The bad news is, some of the nervous damage is unfortunately irreversible.

I am going to my GPs TOMORROW to get tested.

2007 so far has been full of:

* too many pancreatitis attacks
* far too much time spent at hospitals
* a lot of time in the tattooist's chair
* many a good gig
* a PhD I hated, so quit
* a place I hated living in, so moved to a place I love
* a shitload of volunteering work for animal charities
* a whole year of singledom
* depression and then epiphanies
* sadness and then hope
* a whole year of sobriety, which I plan to continue into 2008.

I can't believe how different my life is now to how it was a year ago... I really think 2008 is gonna be the year I fledge and follow my dreams... I can't wait :D

30,000 birds dead, thousands more covered in oil

This week a massive storm swept into the Black Sea, sinking dozens of ships and breaking apart a Russian oil tanker. Over 1,890,000 litres of thick fuel oil was spilled and initial reports suggest some 30,000 birds may have been killed. Thousands more are covered in oil and face death in the coming weeks.

Over 50 kilometres of Russian coastline are impacted by this oil spill, including critical habitat for migrating and wintering birds. At the Russian government's request we've deployed our emergency response team to help as many as possible of the tens of thousands of animals suffering in the wake of this disaster.

Because oil spills like this cause widespread devastation to coastal ecosystems and marine life IFAW created the Emergency Relief Team. Since 1989 when IFAW responded to the massive Exxon Valdez oil spill in Alaska we have become a world-class team of experts in rehabilitating animals injured in oil spills. When there is a disaster, your support helps us provide the best care possible for oiled wildlife globally.

Every day animals are thrown into life-threatening situations. IFAW is dramatically improving their chances of survival by making expertise widely available and coordinating vital on-the-ground efforts to save lives and end suffering.
